There can be different causes for inadequate signal quality results. It’s possible that the camera failed to get a proper signal from your fingertip, that the app detected too much movement during the reading or there can be physical causes.
We’d like to help you find a solution. Please try to follow these steps in this order.
-
Before you start measuring
- Go easy with the level of pressure you exert with your finger on the camera.
- Try using a different finger to measure.
- Remove the protective cover of your smartphone.
-
Do you have cold hands? Try warming up your hands before taking the measurement.
Make sure you’re in a well-lit room.
-
Check if you’re using the right camera
- Tap 'Start measurement'.
-
Tap 'Remind me how it works' and follow the steps until you're at the 'Let's find your camera' screen.
You’ll see a circle that helps you to find the right camera. Test each camera lens by gently covering it. ✅ You found the right camera when the circle turns dark/red ❌ Wrong camera: the circle isn’t dark/red and shows the surroundings - Tap 'Got it' to start measuring and keep your finger in the same position.

Still not working?
- Take a look at this video to try different ways of measuring.
- Or try one of these tips:
- Place your hands on a table and then place your smartphone camera on a finger of your choice. This provides extra stability.
- You can also place your phone on a table with the screen facing downward. Gently place your fingertip over the phone's camera lens and hold your finger steady until the flashlight turns off, signalling that the measurement is complete.
-
The final option is to reset your app:
- Open the FibriCheck app.
- Press and hold the 'Start measurement' button for about 5 seconds or more.
- The app proceeds to the 'Perform a measurement' screen automatically.
- Your flashlight will then switch on.
- If you then put your finger on the camera (not the flashlight) the measurement should start.
